Leads solar design-build delivery, from feasibility through commissioning.

About Elena Marquez
Elena Marquez runs BHK Covenant's solar practice, turning geotechnical findings into arrays that hold their output through Alberta winters. She is on site for every commissioning.

Elena Marquez is Director of Solar Operations at BHK Covenant Energy & Development Ltd, where she owns solar delivery end to end: feasibility, yield modelling, foundation and racking specification, construction management and commissioning.
Her route into renewables ran through heavy civil construction, which is where she learned to distrust a design that has never met the ground it will sit on. She joined BHK Covenant because the company assesses the subsurface before the array is drawn, not after the piles refuse to seat.
On a typical project she is reconciling three things at once: what the soil report says the ground will carry, what the interconnection study allows, and what the client actually needs the system to earn. Her job is to make those agree before anyone orders steel.
Elena is known on site for a short list of non-negotiables: verified pile capacity, drainage that works in a chinook melt, and torque logs on every fastener. Clients get the same numbers her crews do.
“A solar array is a twenty-five year promise. Anything I cannot verify on the day we commission it is a problem I have handed to the owner.”
